Ran on local n8n 1.70.3 against a real sample sales CSV served from automaterecipes.pages.dev/samples/sample-sales.csv: 75 rows read, last 7 days 7,635.00 SAR vs 6,477.00 SAR (+17.9%), top 3 products computed and checked by hand, and a real ntfy push arrived. Not tested: pulling directly from Shopify/POS APIs or a Google-Sheets 'publish to web' link (needs those accounts) – any public CSV URL works the same way.

You will need

  • n8n (self-hosted Community Edition is free; n8n Cloud from €20/mo)
  • Free ntfy app – no account needed
  • A CSV of your sales with a date column (YYYY-MM-DD) and a value column, reachable by URL

Credentials

  • None – no API keys needed (unless your CSV link needs a login).

Configure

  • csvUrl: your CSV link (try the included sample first).
  • dateColumn, valueColumn, groupColumn: the exact header names in your CSV.
  • currency, ntfyTopic. endDate: leave empty for 'today'.

Test

  • Click Test workflow with the sample CSV and endDate '2026-10-16': you get '7635.00 SAR (17.9% vs prior week)'.
  • Switch to your CSV and test again.

Common errors

  • 'no data in the last 7 days': dates are not YYYY-MM-DD or the column name is wrong.
  • Wrong totals: values contain thousands separators or currency symbols – export plain numbers.
  • Commas inside product names break this simple CSV parser – use names without commas or a semicolon export.
  • Nothing arrives in ntfy: the topic in Config must match the one you subscribed to exactly (case-sensitive).
  • Never runs on its own: toggle the workflow Active – the manual trigger only runs when you click Test workflow.
